LACK OF FACILITIES FOR STUDENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
In this article, we are
going to discuss the lack of facilities in public schools in Pakistan due to
which students and teachers face many problems and cannot be able to
concentrate on teaching and learning. The first need for students in schools is
physical comfort because if there is no physical comfort then there is no
mental comfort and students will not be able to concentrate on their studies
and their learning process will be affected badly. The physical condition of
buildings of public schools is very poor that leaves direct negative effects on
students' minds for example personnel safety, feelings of effectiveness in the
classroom, and general learning environment. Also, there is a lack of classrooms
in public schools due to which students are compelled to sit outside of the
classroom. Also, there is no proper arrangement of furniture for students in public
schools. The dilapidated desks and chairs are not able to allow students to sit
over and there due to the reason students are forced to sit on the ground for
studying. Unavailability of electricity is also the main issue in public schools. Many schools in this country are deprived of power connections
due to which students are compelled to study in natural light. In summer it becomes very
difficult for students to concentrate on their studies in a hot atmosphere due to the unavailability of electricity. Almost half of the public schools in Pakistan do
not have clean drinking water facilities. Several schools in the
country have no water tanks and some that have them don’t have drinkable water.
Moreover, there are no
clean toilets and no water in toilets for students in public schools due to
which students have to suffer from many problems, especially for females. These are
the basic facilities from which public schools are deprived and students are
unable to focus on their studies the way they should.

LACK OF FACILITIES FOR STUDENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
If we take a look at the education system of public schools, unfortunately, it is at a great loss. If we take the example of public schools at Sindh, they are shut for a very long time due to ‘Wadera’ a system where the feudal lords consider the school lands as their property and use them as places to kept animals. Another thing is, in this pandemic where education is moved to virtual method what about the students of public schools? They don’t have access to technology and know-how of technology. Every child has the right to education. Before introducing online learning applications, the government must provide resources to students and make them familiar with the technology to attend online classes.
Students who can’t afford the heavy fees of private schools but are keen to get an education and willing to learn skills must provide these facilities at their public schools. Defected computers are placed in labs of public schools then how could we expect them to have a piece of technology knowledge and to take online lectures? Even the teachers are not punctual at public schools. Government should take serious note of this issue because we have a great ratio of poverty and the children from these areas have every right to get a proper education.

Private School VS Public School
In this era, the student who passed out from public schools is considered less intelligent than a private school student. People consider ‘Peela School’ as taboo because everybody knows the education and facilities at public schools are almost equal to zero. There should be enough effort put in facilitating public schools so there will be a time when no one thinks public any less than private schools. The learning, writing, speaking skills of public schools students should be polished so that they will never be considered any less than a private school student.
Despite all this lack of
facilities, our public school students groom on their own and they should never
be underestimated.
It’s time to make solutions for the
lack of facilities in public schools that have been mentioned above. First, the thing
that needs to make possible for students and teachers is safety and for this
purpose, the buildings of schools should be renewed and strong where students
and teachers feel fearless for their safety. After that schools should have
maximum classrooms for their students so that students do not have to sit
outside the classroom. Also, schools should have a proper yearly plan for how
many students can take admission in schools. The advantage of this plan is that
there will be no burden of students in classrooms and on teachers as well and
teachers will easily focus on teaching and students. Schools should have proper
furniture in classrooms and availability of electricity where students feel
comfortable and can concentrate on their studies. Also, schools should have
clean drinking water facilities for their students, and for this purpose, schools
should make water tanks and clean them every week. If water tanks
have no clean water, there should be possible water dispensers
in every school to provide their students clean drinking water. Toilets are
the need of every school. There should be almost 3 toilets in every school and they
should be clean and washed on a daily routine. Public schools also need computer
labs where enough computers should be provided to the students so that
public schools students can get IT education properly because IT education is
the need of today’s time. If these problems would be solved then students will be able to concentrate on their studies instead of thinking why should we go to
school if there is no proper system for education and no comfort for us as
well. It is a question of the future of our students. If they get better education
today, they can form a better Pakistan tomorrow.
